Gathering dust...
Sorry it's been quiet around here lately. I feel like my blog is getting dusty! There is much going on in my world...good stuff...but I am adjusting to all the "new" in my life. I like being busy again, and I feel a bit more "purposeful." Funny, how that happens, as if not working makes us "less." I don't believe that's the case, but I sure felt that way. *sigh*
I miss having the time to take photos though. So today I was mindful and made the time to take photos of these cherries. I saw this teal blue colander at World Market a few weeks ago and snatched it up (it was only $1.99) knowing I would use it for summery shots like this. I love taking photos of fruit in bowls...it feels somewhat nostalgic to me. And it slows me down. And it reminds me of Char...gosh she died almost 2 years ago now. I still miss her.
Anyway...I do have a favorite song of the moment...
And I bought this...it's big and bold and ballsy! I love it!
Have a gorgeous weekend!!!

10 on 12 | Nowordz Photography Chicago
Hello my friends! Sheesh...it's been a busy week...actually a busy month! I got a little behind on the 10 on 10 project and ended up shooting on the 12th instead (I am such a rule breaker that way!). But it was Mother's day and there were some good photo opportunities. Not to mention...it was raining (again) on the 10th and I just didn't feel like shooting in the cruddy weather! Do you know it has rained on the 10th of every month since I have started this project! Weird.
Anyway...Mother's day was a good day. I got a coooool new phone (the HTC one), my Mom came over, my cat let me take photos of her, I got some yellow roses and I had a very fun photo shoot (with an up and coming DJ) that got photo bombed by 2 families of geese. That's a pretty good day in my book! :)
Whew...I need a nap!
Enjoy!
So that's that! Please check out what Sara Stonehouse of Sugarlens Photography did on the 10th!

It's never too late to start over. Make a wish and see where it leads.

Hello my friends! Sorry for my absence around here. I have been very busy starting up my new venture with Stella & Dot. I have to say...I have not felt this motivated and excited in a long long time. I love a challenge...and I feel like this is something that I can really wrap my arms around and embrace. As with any new *thing* there comes lots of juggling and balancing. So as I dive into this, I must choose what gets my attention. My poor blog seems to be getting a bit dusty.
But I am working out the kinks and figuring it all out.
Life just amazes me at times. Just when you think "this is how it's all going to turn out" something comes out of the blue and changes everything. And the path you are on suddenly forks, and you are now faced with a decision. That is how I feel. I am now walking into uncharted territory. Adding more into my life. And you know...the unexpected is good.
It's about being open to things that really didn't ever occur to you!
Be open
Be willing
Embrace the new
Don't be afraid of change
Accept the challenge
Don't think you can't do it
Fear NOT
I'm possible not impossible
Fake it til you make it!
