10 on 10

Oh I am super pumped to share some photos with you today.  Not because of the photography per se...but because of this 10 on 10 group I am involved with.  10 on 10 you ask? Oh now, it's not nearly as kinky as it sounds...lol.  It's a group of women who take 10 photos on the 10th day of the month.  See...not kinky at all! *smiles*

OK...I do want to explain a few things here...  A few years ago I was a flickr addict had a flicker account.  I made some wonderful friends on-line and off.  I was inspired beyond measure and challenged myself photographically.  But sadly I had to delete my account (like 3 times!!! LOL) and I felt sad about some of the relationships that I lost.  There were a handful of people that really blew me away and Jordan Parks is one of those photographers.  She's incredibly talented behind the camera and hilarious in front (doesn't get much better than that!)  Anyway, I was having a crap day last week (I seem to be having quite a few of those lately...hmmm) and she contacted me about joining this 10 on 10 group. I was thrilled...plus connecting with some of those flickr friends was icing on the cake!  Now, I was recently part of another photo group (which was wonderful...but I could not keep up with it for one reason or another.) and I was not sure about jumping into another one.  But then I got to thinking.  I love the idea of 10 photos on the 10th of each month.  What will that particular day hold?  Will carrying the camera around that day change everything?  I do think so.  A mini documentary into a person's life.  I love that concept.  I mean, we are such curious creatures...and how fun to get that peek into a day of a life...

And the best thing? No pressure.  No perfect pictures.  Just moments.  I love that.  So I joined the group.

So without further ado...here are my 10 on 10...

Good morning Chicago!  This is the view from my Mom's senior apartment lobby.  Not too shabby.

Ahhh...the chair and Mr. Coffee await...I mean how 80's is this?  The lovely sea foam green paint and the "hotelesque" watercolor painting. Cracks me up every time I come to visit.

Here's my Mom (hi Mom!  *waves*).  This is her breakfast.  She eats the same thing.  Everyday. She is a creature of habit.

Some random junk sitting on her table (it makes me itchy looking at this...but it's her mess...  Oh I do like the watch...it was 8:31am when I took this shot).  Dang...I can't look at this too long...

Moving along...

Oh don't you love these scales???  I was called by the school nurse to come and get my child...103.5 fever.  Obviously I ran out of the house without my fancy pants camera (you know, I was in Mom mode...).  So it was off to the doc to make sure it was not strep or the flu (it was neither...just a nasty virus that is STILL lingering!)

She is a good little patient!

I saw a weiner car on the way home!!!  Totally cracked me up!

And back home...there are dishes to be done.  I do like that I updated my dishware...I love square plates!

And then there is homework...I call her beauty and the beats...

And that is that.  10 photos on the 10th of January.  Kinda cool.

So to continue the circle, please go and see what the beautiful Audry Amaro of Today Just Be did on the 10th of January.

As usual...thanks for stopping by today!

Great idea...10 on the 10th...of what is part of your day -- great recapping of what your day held. I'm still laughing that your mother's table with all her "things" makes you itchy and you can't look at it for too long!! lol!!! Hope your daughter gets over that virus soon...I hear these ones this winter are lingering...

I'm a total commitment-phobe when it comes to joining groups and classes. I can't take a class unless it's very short and doesn't drag out for months, because I invariably start to dread it. I guess I'll never go back to school full time.

These are awesome shots! I'm a creature of habit with my breakfast too. I LOVE croissants! Your mom has excellent taste. Being a child of a hoarder, I get twitchy when I see clutter, too.

Looking forward to the next 10 already!
