A space to breath in...
Holy crap! I finally re-decorated! This is my new living room! Thanks to West Elm and some great accessories from Target! Let me tell you...I decorated this room for less than 1/2 of what I bought our old couches for 12 years ago!! Yes I did! I will say, I have a knack for finding good quality stuff on a budget. And keeping within that budget! It's kind of a game to me...and it's fun to see see how far I can stretch my dollar.
Seriously, it's been about 12 years since we got new couches. 12 effing long years. Do you know how icky my couches were? Let's just say...they were the dogs beds...and if you did dare to actually sit on them...you needed to shower after and de-lint! They were gross and dark red...and scary. Actually, I don't recall the last time I sat on them. I kid you not (now I have to train the beasts not to make these don't become their new beds! Ay yi yi...my giant Sheppard jumped on them last night and I had the shooo the poor girl off).
This little project has been a long time comin'...and I feel so happy that it's all done. And now I can actually sit on my couches...how cool is that? LOL
Happy Sunday my friends!!!

My nugget of wisdom...get rid of old stuff that you don't use anymore! Purging is good for the soul! And donating items just makes you feel good!!!

Caroline, this is stunning! The colour palette and the choices you made....really comes together. Well done!!
purging is the best!!!! i love your color scheme...it's so you. I imagine you'll have dots of pink and yellow with that gray. It's really beautiful...and so you!
What a wonderful redo! Love the soft colors and that lamp...Target for real?
I LOVE the fish on your mantel! Where did you get it?
I love the muted colors.... so soft and pretty. Your living room actually matches your blog!

Really beautiful! Nice job!

Absolutely love the neutral tones! I replaced my couch about 2 years ago and bought a white suedecloth couch. The one prior I had for about 15 years. It was floral print and people told me it reminded them of an old lady. Yikes! It was so awful, the Salvation Army refused to take it! BUT, that couch came to be known as the 'couch that would not die.' You could probably set off a grenade on it and it wouldn't make a dent. Yes, it's so great to redecorate! Congrats on this project!
you are so good with your colours, this is such a soothing room, makes me just want to walk in and sit down with the book from your other post.
Wow! This is beautiful Caroline!
Glad I stopped by here. I usually get updates for you from Bloglovin', but had not had any in awhile. Hmmm, have to see what happened.
Hey there Caroline (or anyone else), how comfortable is the Bliss Sofa? Is the back too short? How is it to lay down on?
Hi there! Nope, the back is not too short...the pillows are very "sturdy" and comfortable. I love it!
Sorry, one more question! Do you find the arm rests a little too short?...Love your photography!

I have not noticed the arm rests. I don't sit on the edge of the couch...more in the middle. I will say I love the low rise, it just gives the room more breathing space!
