Today's photo challenge is black and white. I love black and white photography...I suppose it's just a different type of moodiness. Black and white seems more dramatic to me. Not sure why...but the absence of color adds an intensity. And I love how timeless black and white can be.

Anyhoo...I need a bit of color today, not too much, but nice and soft pastels will do. It's been kinda yucky the past few days. So some fresh flowers always seem to do the trick. What is it about fresh flowers that just make everything a bit brighter and happier? I bought these roses at Costco (yeah, I shop there a lot). They really do get exquisite flowers though and for a great price. Not to mention, they last for weeks...so how can you not love that?
I used to be snobby and turn my nose on carnations. I have to tell you...I am really liking them lately. And the ones here are so shabby chic looking. Seriously...did I just write that? Shabby chic flowers? Ay yi yi. Shit. Ok...now I swore, so the world is back to normal again. Let's move along...

OK...this post is making me sleepy...I think I may take a nice little Saturday afternoon cat nap. I hope you are having a relaxing weekend.
As always, thanks for stopping by today...I love visitors!

P.S. I may not be on pinterest...but if you see anything here you like...you have my permission to pin it. Just sayin'

if someone made me choose...."you can only shoot in color OR black and white"....i'd pick black and white for sure :)
and flowers in the winter are more special {i think} then in the summer...
although i miss standing in my grandmother's summer garden with her {as she tended to and talked to her flowers} more then anyone could ever imagine.....ox
Shabby chic ~ love that. And they really do have that sort of look, come to think of it. The photos of the flowers are absolutely yummy. Love that last one, too. Beautiful crop there.
Yeah, what is up with all the hating?
Hope you enjoyed your nap. I took a cat nap in the sunshine this afternoon. 'Bout time for some sun.
Love your pup in B&W. It's ok to
Have to
Shabby chic flowers. I never thought of them that way but it makes sense. Oh- and your orchid probably isn't dying. They hibernate. I thought that about mine and it was Frankie who told me that! So we keep ours by an east facing window and continue to feed and water it. By April or may the buds should start appearing.
Hello again, friend. I just wanted to say hi.

Lovely work here. Hugs
Love the B&W pup. Why oh why can't I wrap my head around b&w? I must give this some serious thought. Everthing I convert seems to lack 'punch' .... note to self: practice! Love the post! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Black and white is my absolute favorite so far. Love the puppy.
