I seriously can't keep up anymore... So I quit. I had a Flickr account that I was holding on too...thinking that maybe Getty or someone would stumble across it and think...hey! We want your photos. I also just deleted my Nowordz Facebook Fanpage. So if you were a fan...sorry, it's gone. I am only going to post my photos here from now on. I felt like I was stretching myself too thin. There are too many places to post, too many pressures, to many Jonses to keep up with. So I just said fuck it and got rid of the things that just don't make me feel good anymore. And you know what? I feel like a weight has been lifted! Honestly I never got a paying request from Facebook or Flickr. I get my paying jobs from meeting people in person and word of mouth. It's kinda the old fashioned way...
So I have one more day in NYC...I have really enjoyed my visit. I have been quiet. And I have been taking loads of film photos...can't wait to get them developed.
I have been thinking a lot too...getting my shit together and realizing what is important and what's wasting my time.
I love my blog. And this is where I like to spend my time. And I really thank you for visiting me here. At the end of a crappy day, you make me smile. Thanks for that!
xoxo

lovely pics.
I'm with you. got rid of twitter & flickr page and don't have a facebook. I think all those social networking that is suppose to meet me and have people meet you is work. just keeping them update is stressful.
hope you have a sweet day.
Hey C. I hear you 100%. There is just too much living to do to spend so much time on the computer. Although it has it's place-just at a much more manageable & realistic quantity of time. Love your NY shots. It's such a great place to visit. Glad u are staying put in the blogging world C. :-)
well, you know I love you no matter where you are! I always wondered how you kept up with it all. Hooray for figuring out what works for you.
I've discovered that keeping life simple and not stretching myself thin is the way to go...life is too short to do otherwise.
Glad you've been enjoying NYC...safe trip home! xo
Yeah, nothing compares to blogging!
how funny, I did the same the other day, no facebook, tumblr, pinterest, it does feel great, I tried instagram for a bit but realised it's the same as everything else and it's no longer about good photography it's all about the comments. Look forward to seeing your film shots and glad you have made these powerful decisions.
Good for you Caroline! It's never good to stretch yourself so thin that breaking is a possibility. The first thing I thought of when I saw the bottom photo was Sting's song, An Englishman in New York. Love that photo!! I am so envious. How I'd love to be in NY right this very moment.
Have a wonderful trip.
not keeping up with the joneses is the way to go.
good for you for making the change as simplicity, especially as we all get older, is such a blessing....xo
I adore that last photo. It's so NY. Mine from Sunday are meh. Glad you pared things down ~ I've always enjoyed it here.
smart - that's all I have to say........x
Good for you! And I couldn't agree more. I've only concentrated on 2 spots to post photos...my blog and RedBubble...and I sometimes have trouble getting that done. Yes, I'm on FB but spend very little time there. Selling a (one!) photo would be a dream but if it doesn't happen, so what! And if I can't post everyday, that's OK too. Oh so glad your blog is still here!!! Hope you are loving NYC - the weather has been so good for photos!
You go girl! Follow what feels right to you. Bravo!
Enjoy the rest of your trip. Glad you love it here because I do too!
So know what you mean! Focus on what brings you pleasure and let all the rest of it go. That's my motto!
Enjoy the city. So much life.
I love NYC, enjoy each moment there! I'm with you on stretching yourself too thin - I've never been a big fan of that. Fabulous photos!
good for you make life simpler and do what you love. glad your having a good time in NYC. Can't wait to see some of the photos. be well.
One blog is all I can handle and even that gets to be a bit much, at times.
smart move! there is too little time, and perhaps it is best to concentrate on the one (or two or three) areas that make one happiest!
hope you are enjoying ny! i am jealous! i have only been there once, and it was a long time ago!
Well, I like your photo's, a lot, so I'm glad you still come here to share them, thank you!
I also saw that you liked my quote on pinterest (going in the right direction), thanks for that too, hope you will enjoy NY on your last day,
Maureen x
ha ha love it straight from the cuff that's what is so refreshing about your style
beautiful.
Sometimes blogging is too much, as is evidenced by my rarely used blog this past year. Just curious... why the fun with film? Are you developing your photos yourself? I don't miss paying for developing one iota.
Totally agree with simplifying. Good for you! I like focusing on my blog and rarely even put a link to my facebook page. Never got into flickr and spend about 15 minutes or less a day on pinterest. I will say my blog has brought me business, so that is good.
It sure does get overwhelming. My blog is my main thing, too, and it automatically updates to Facebook and Twitter so I never actually post much on either of those. Flickr I do still think is fun but I've never put all my photos on there, usually just one from each blog post. Maybe someday I'll get sick of those but I can't imagine ever giving up my blog.
I love the title...you seriously crack me up...and just put it out there...great photos too!

Good for you Caroline, and I do know just what you mean about feeling a weight has been lifted. I've done some "cleaning up," but even that takes time. More to do when my next work break comes along.
I am so glad you enjoyed NYC!
xo.
good for you!! get rid of it!
xo Lisa
