Simple: Joy

Joy

Oh yes I did!  I put up three (yes, that's right...three!) trees yesterday.  One in the living room and 1 in each of the kids rooms.  There is something about that light...the way the room glows...that brings me so much joy.  Last year after Christmas, I bought a bigger tree for the living room so I had to do something with the smaller one.  I thought...why not put it in my daughter's room? The kids went nuts and could not believe that I put trees in their rooms.  They jumped up and down and were so excited.  I just stood there and smiled.  My little one was the most excited because I bought her a pink tree (well now, it just wouldn't be fair if her sister had a tree and she didn't).  It really is magical too...they way that pink light dances on the walls. So my home is getting very festive.

And I am feeling really joyful because I am getting a lot of "stuff" out of the way.  I really want to enjoy this season...I don't want it too rush by in a blur (only 35 more days until...yikes!)...so yes, I am getting a head start.  Oh yeah, I am done Christmas shopping too (sorry if I am coming off like an over achiever...cuz I really am not...I just hit some good sales and needed to use the coupons that were going to expire...and thought, what the heck...let's just cross it all off and be done with it). Plus my in-laws are coming on Friday and staying through Thanksgiving and I won't have time to do any decorating.  *Whew...big exhale*

The good thing is I now have more time to bake cookies :)

Ooooh one last thing...and probably the best thing...  I was sitting in the living room after the kids went to bed (feeling exhausted yet content) looking at the gorgeous light and listening to this (one of my all time favorite songs)...*sigh*

Wow, your children must have been estatic. How fun for them. Enjoy the season. Take care.

now who wouldn't want a pink tree in their bedroom? seriously, how exciting.

I love the glow of Christmas tree lights. I always loved when we had candles in the window when I was growing up too! Tara wants a white tree for her room this year. We have enough ornaments to decorate a tree in every room!

LOL! How funny! I'm glad that I'm not the only one who is in the holiday spirit this early in the year! And pink, too! I don't actually have the trees up yet, but I do have the strings of lights over each window just because I love the glow they give in a room, lol.

My shopping is basically done and all that is left is to pull out the boxes of decorations and start putting them up. Actually, I'm hoping to do that by this weekend. I decided early on that I wanted to enjoy the holiday season this year and I feel like it's off to a good start.

Hope you have a beautiful day!

I believe in BIG headstarts on Christmas! That's not overachievement, it's just simple common sense -- when everything is left until the last moment, you can't enjoy the season at all. It goes by in a huge rush and is full of stress as a result. "If you love Christmas, get ready way in advance" is my motto!

so exciting!!!

I love the holiday season !!!

I am so glad you posted this because I want to, I want to put up all three of my trees, the living the dining room and my girls bedroom. But I thought what its to early I used to it before turkey day all the time then I stopped by heck yes, I'm starting today...thank you, Lisa Marie

I have been in the Christmas spirit already too. I can't wait to start hearing Christmas music and watching Christmas movies. I think the Hallmark Channel is starting the movies this week.

I bet that pink Christmas tree is gorgeous. It sounds like you have a very warm and inviting house.

Caroline,
I am celebrating your newfound energy to create. Wonderful. May you enjoy every minute of the holidays, savoring them the way YOU want to savor them. It's your life, after all. (Love that song, by Bon Jovi...)xoxo

OMGoodness! not an over achiever! no! an inspiration. so pretty!

Wow! I'm impressed by how organised you are - trees already! I guess your kids must be super excited. I don't put my tree up until much later in December, though I do have a thing about fairy lights and have them all year around in my house!

I think it's lovely that you are already into the Christmas spirit and soooo cool that you have put Christmas trees in the kids' bedrooms! I must admit it's hard to get into the Christmas spirit here when we are in sweltering, humid temperatures at this time of year. I usually feel a little more Christmas-y on December 1st when it's our family tradition to put up the tree. OH RATS! With all the re-organising in the house we've done the past week, I have no clue where we will be able to fit the tree this year....YIKES!!!

I don't usually decorate until after Thanksgiving. This made me want to though!
