Joy: Christmas in Cali

Tis the season...

And it's taking me some getting used to.  I grew up in the Midwest and Christmas is cold (and if we we're lucky...snowy too).  But I'm not in the Midwest anymore.

And this is what the holiday season looks like in my neck of the woods:

Mohawks, green hair, shorts, tee-shirts. palm trees and warm weather.

And incredible classical guitar...not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon .

And here is their video on youtube...

Yeah...this is bringing me some serious joy!

Happy Monday!

Oh wauw Caroline, this sounds awsome. And that guy on the right looks handsome to me. Thanks for sharing and I like your new layouts.

Love the new header.
I love your photos today, a little different for you!

christmas is christmas with a twist here...love your new look and ah music always tops with me!!

Wonderful collection of happy images. So very 'christmas'!!!

Hi Caroline...
Your book looks great and I wish all the best with that.

I love Christmas and judging by the look of your blog you do too.

It's hot in corner of the world for Christmas also and I don't know it any other way.

best wishes
Ribbon :)

I love these! Might not be snowy, but Christmas in Cali seems much more colorful than the Midwest. :)

WOW... I like Xmas in Cali! It's so much more carefree than here in cold Norway...LOL! :o)

Caroline, I like your new Christmas blog, and your header is awesome. . . as always. I bet it seems very strange without snow, and all the 'fru fru' that goes along with winter weather!

Looks like a fun Christmas to me. Yeah snow is nice on Dec. 25th, but after that? Ick. :)

Some cool Christmas elves walking your streets!! Love the video clip.

it's amazing how very different everyone's christmas experience can be. i can remember talking to my aunt when she lived in la and they were swimming on christmas. while we were shivering.

Ole! I just had to shout that at the end of the clip - lol! Fantastic guitar work. I used to work on 2nd St. and was always on the Promenade at lunchtime, enjoying the music, the artists, the people. As a native Californian, a California Christmas is all I've ever known. Here in HB, a lot of RVers camp for the holidays, enjoying the beach on Thanksgiving and Christmas. We definitely don't have a Currier and Ives holiday look. It's Cali, baby!

thanks for filling my wee cabin with amazing music! Calif. xmas is so different from places with weather!

Sounds like Christmas here minus the mohawks and green hair.
Your pictures show the feeling that Christmas spirit is gearing up.

Don't worry, you're not the only one! In Aussieland here it is summer season, hence T shirts, shorts, flipflops go with all X'mas decoration! ;)

i was in the valley for thanksgiving. it was 80 degrees! WOW! it is nuts down here in more ways than one. :)

Caroline the holiday header is divine...and this post is beautiful...love the guitar players.

Love the holiday look, Caroline, so festive. Yes, warm state holidays are interesting. I've only experienced two and they were quite memorable. I know you will find and create joy wherever you go...

Adore the guitar too. Do you like Jesse Cook? Marvy...

Hee hee - it's a bit like that here in New Zealand, where it is summer of course. Seeing Christmas baubles dangling in the streets to a backdrop of blazing sunshine just seems 'wrong' (!) Oh, I'll get over it when I have my picnic on the beach with chilled Sauvi-blanc on Christmas Day!

It's definitely not Kansas, Dorothy! It doesn't get incredibly cold here in December, but we do have a semblance of winter and Christmas. I could do with some California weather, though, any time.

Hello Caroline
Love visiting your blog. It is so colourful, interesting and inspiring.
Bless you my dear friend.
May you always have much joy in your life.
Big hugs
Peggy xxxx

Thank you for your kind words on my blog today. I thought the "gift" was my header, but the real gift is finding all of these fabulous new to me blogs through Beth!

Here in the midwest... a storm is brewing and much snow is expected today... even though its a balmy 40 plus degrees :)

Ive always wanted to spend a Christmas somewhere with no snow...Trade ya!
