I love the warm light on the tree...the sun was beginning to set and was shedding a beautiful golden glow on everything it touched...nightfall... Don't you love that? I prefer the dusk over the dawn...maybe it's because I am a night owl and I feel that the day is just beginning for me. Well, it really begins after I put my kids to bed...lol. I love to stay up until midnight or later. I really do! I love a quiet house at night when everyone is asleep. There is also something about the night that is mysterious and curious. My imagination tends to wander more and I feel more creative. I am not a morning person. I don't enjoy getting up before the dawn. If I could, I would sleep in until 10 AM. This is probably why I love coffee so much...because I really do need the caffeine to fuel my engine in the morning.
So what about you...are you an early riser or a night owl? What is special about that time for you?

Oh I your photo's are so relaxing and inviting. You one from yesterday made me go to the apple orchard and get apples and make apple sauce!
I too love the night. I tend to get into a mystical mode where writing flows. Mornings I can take or leave. I get up early (5:30am) as work makes that a must.. but come 100pm and that's when I start coming alive.

Stunning photography, your picture is awesome. . .I tend to be just the opposite, morning is when my juices are flowing, I seem to be most productive early! But it's when the house is quiet and the rest of the world is still sleeping. . .

pardon my crass language, but the morning BLOWS. at least it does when one must be awoken by an alarm clock and drudge oneself out of bed to get ready for work.

I am a night owl but I am trying to change that. I miss to much of the daylight being a night owl. Today I got up early and went out for a shoot. It was fun.
Over the years, I have become an early riser. I love the feel and the smell of a fresh early morning. :)
caroline, this photo is so beautiful. yes, the light is magical. i do love dusk, it is a deep, sensual, full of wonder time as the light pales.
but i am a morning person at heart. my energy is high, creativity too, coming out of sleep my mind feels very poetic and writing...

I love the sunsets colors too!Your photo is gorgeous. I tend to stay up late and try and get 8 hours sleep. I agree, night holds time for myself. Though I just did two weeks of wandering alone and I got up for sunrise everyday and it was magic.

I am both... early morning and night owl. I guess that why I LOVE coffee and iced tea so much! I love when the house is quiet and everyone else is asleep!
As strange as it sounds, I love this time of year when days get shorter, and cooler. The house feels cozier with soft lights and candles, and the aromas from comfort food smell better.... We are not big on bright lighting in the house.. in fact, I sit many night by the light of the TV or laptop!
What is that apple crisp I smell baking!
