Comfort

Milk and Molasses

You are butter

It's been raining all day and I just want to snuggle into bed with my book (only a few pages left...mmmmmm).  Today I am loving milk and molasses...so deep, rich, delicious...a perfect drink for today.  It's going down so well with the squaw bread (slathered with sweet cream butter) I bought yesterday at the farmer's market.

This is why I love fall...comfort.  Warm blankets, rich foods, slowing down on raining days.  Especially the slowing down part.  I have been doing too much and I need this pause.

So what are your favorite fall comforts?

Mmmm, sounds yummy, Caroline.
I like hot chocolate and cinnamin toast.

I get into a soup making mode and a baking mode. Comfort foods, for sure. Then warm fleece blankets for curling up on the couch to watch a movie or read. Candlelight. Enjoy your comforts!

I love biscuits, tea and homemade soups. Thanks for celebrating my big day with me!

oh, it is chilly and rainy here, too.

i stepped on the scale this weekend and quickly noted that i have to scale back on my comfort food A LOT!!! hahahah. but WAH!!!! so sad. as soup and grilled cheese would be perfect today. or a veggie burger and fries. or or or! oh dear. i need to find comfort in others ways. :(

Hot chocolate and or ginger/lemon tea and warm fleece.

I just drizzled a stream of butter on my apple-butter muffins.... mmmm

:-)

Comforts:
A small heater under my desk and a secretary to bring me green tea in the morning.

This is my first visit to your blog I connected through another blog.

Best regards

I'm not a fall or winter person at all, but you make it sound so dreamy and soft and wonderful. I don't like dark, dreary days; I'm a sunshine and ocean breezes gal. As a result, I don't think I have any favorite fall comforts, although I'm kind of itching to make some kitcharee today. The smell would be so wonderful in the house!

Sounds great, but I would weigh 500 pounds if I did all the comforting things that sound good in the fall. I love the photos.
Thanks.

red wine & a soft quilt...your images ars so special Caroline!

your photos show the delicious comfort! So glad you have some rain.
I woke up to 1+ inches of snow! Then the rain washed it away. First comfort is a fire in my wood stove and Tea with friends.

these are so warm and inviting. beautiful job!

Turkey soup that I will be making tomorrow with the left over Thanksgiving turkey...and a cozy wood fire. Hubby cleaned the chimney Sunday so we had our first fire of the season Monday...love it!!!
