Ok...I have to be honest. I love the pretty trees and all that...but what I really like about fall is the food! Pies, stews and especially caramel apples. Oh my my my...I could eat them everyday. I really have no will power when it comes to these delicious treats. *Gah* I will be going to the grocery later this week and I know they will be taunting me in the produce section. But life is short...so i'll cave :)
On a more philosophical note...I found this incredible metta prayer over at Jan's blog and was completely blown away. I mean really blown away. I said this 4 times to myself (replacing the you with "I")and then said it to my husband (who kind of pissed me off earlier...so I thought it would be good to try). I really didn't think it would make me feel different...but it did. So give this a try today.

Then go buy some caramel apples...because life is sweet.

I really love your photography Caroline. It's so ethereal and powerful. I can gaze at it all day. :)
May you be abundantly successful. :)
these apples look scrumptious. I think I'd like one while sitting by the fire in that beautiful red cabin in your post below.
Caroline,
I saw this Metta Prayer at Jan's site as well - and in doing it - found it brought this level of peace, right there in that moment.
I better not have the caramel apple quite this early!!
Have a wonderful day!
YUM! That apple looks so delicious. Great fall picture!
That little prayer says it all, doesn't it? Beautiful!
Hi Caroline,
I agree the food! I was back in Michigan and went to the farmer's market with my daughter. The sights, sounds, smells and foods of autumn were everywhere.
My mother's birthday is onHalloween and October and fall were really celebrated in my family and on our farm.
Thanks for the memories.
I knew of the prayer but haven't said it in quite a while. It's a very good idea to say in the grocery line, for your enemies (you probably don't have any!) etc.
It's on a sticky note on my mirror so I'll be saying often. Blessings will be going out in the world because of this reminder today.
HI Caroline,
I am so happy to hear this Metta story. It is such a powerful practice.
Though I can take absolutely no credit for it. It was "created" by the Buddha himself and has been a mainstay of Buddhist practice for eons. But the very cool thing is that because we are opening our minds and hearts to each other, taking down Berlin Walls and dismanting religious barriers, more and more people of all traditions are embracing this simple prayer practice. Its power to transform speaks for itself. It is my primary prayer/meditation practice now--it is that significant.
So I am doing a happy dance for you today! I am also doing one because my new blog site is up, the one you helped me create. Thank you, thank you for this. I could not have done this without you. May you always walk in beauty, my friend! xoxo

I've never been a fan of caramel apples, but you picture them so sweetly, it's actually making my mouth water.
And the saying is making me feel better, too.
Yes, life is sweet.
