So I went out on a limb and sent some photos into shutter stock. All of which were rejected due to poor lighting and composition. Really!? Oh well...I guess it's not meant to be.
Oh I am not down about the rejection at all...I figured I would try and see. For "shits and giggles" as I like to say.
Sometimes in life you just have to go out on a limb and take a chance. Don't let rejection hold you back. I am not. I think I will start compiling photos for my photo book...
How might you "go out on a limb" today? I'd like to know!

Not worrying about the in-laws coming in a few months:)
Not worrying about what others will or will not do. I must just focus on what I am doing.
Poor lighting and composition?! Are you kidding me? Have they no soul?! I'm sorry Caroline. I admire you for giving it a try. Keep trying. One day, when I have the courage to actually submit writing material, I'm sure I'll deal with plenty of rejection too. But that's okay. It's part of it. :)
I agree with Stark Raving Zen...have they no soul? Are they crazy? Born yesterday.
I never heard of "shits and giggles." My husband will love that.
I also like to say "This or something better God!"
Good on you to go out on a limp and remain optimistic after rejection! Not everyone could to that. Keep going Caroline, you have a wonderful attitude and this will make you successful. Just wait and see.
Well, I went out on a limp to join NaNo last week and still think that I must be insane. But I'm already ripping the benefit of NaNo (even it hasn't started yet). I'm in the process of up my daily word count. So there you go ... :)
I submitted some once too. I decided that stock photography need-ers and I have very different taste. :)
I have lots of ideas for photo books for me - but they must wait until I upgrade my computer because I want to use blurb and my current computer won't support it. Have fun compiling!
Thank you for visiting... It brought me to your beautiful place ~~~

stocks sites are super picky because they have such a pool to swim in - some of the best photographers I know have been rejected so you're in great company. :)
on a limb today? i worked on my inservices but I will take this challenge up tomorrow.
hmmm..I am glad that you are not down..keep on doing...on a limb...I am wavering a job I would like has been posted at a local scrpabook store..but i have no retail experience..and I was rejected 6 months ago..however I have now been published and was a guest designer on a blog..so we will see ..
Out on a limb? That's a good question. Inspired by you I will submit a fiction piece to an open call I know about.
Meantime, didn't Picasso flunk out of art school or some such story?
Sounds like "shutter stock" should rename themselves "shitter stock" ~ hey, excuse my language but really! They have no taste at all my dear.
I can't believe they didn't gobble you up! No soul or sense - or maybe someone was jealous, who knows...
Today, I'm going to go out on a mind-limb and just lie there, quietly, looking up at the sky through a canopy of life-filled branches and leaves, hoping a bird or butterfly will land near me and bring me inspiration in a wingbeat...
I am glad you are not feeling rejected about this. I enter a lot photos in competition and I generally shot for competition as the rules for competition photography are so different to where most bloggers get their influences from like the media and professional photography.
It's scary and good to hear what a judge has to say about your work. I take all the critiquing in, but if my photo doesn't win a place I am not to worried as in the end people are all influenced by what they like and personal choice.
So your photos may not have been what they are looking for but that doesn't mean that your work is not good.
I think your photography is totally wonderful. They don't know what they are talking about.
Good on you girl for giving it a try. I am always impressed with the beauty in your images. My guess is they are simply not the direction for your lovely art. Out on a limb today??? Well I am traveling, it is yet to be revealed.
You are a winner with a great attitude! I need to investigate the possibility of publishing my poems.
brush it off...so subjective and so many to choose from...this photo is stunning in it's simple detail...
my "out on a limb" moment...every time i delve into art.
this shot is beautiful!
and forget about that silly rejection! at least you tried! i have always been too chicken shit to submit any of my paintings, photos or drawings ANYWHERE.
"Out on a limb"....I love that expression. And it also reminds me of the Shirley Maclaine book.
Caroline this photo is amazing....I love it. I am learning so much from you about how to take "different" photos.
Compiling your own photo book sounds like a great idea to me, so out you go dear girl, right to the edge of that limb.
Big hugs
Peggy
This can't be? You take the best shots I've ever seen in my whole life. I adore you...guess they needed good glasses. But how wonderful you still turn things into positive prospective. That's were the real you is, your strenght.
Happy weekend. Oh and I love your new header. Bye Dagmar
Your photography inspires me :)
I am a lover of trees and everything to do with them.
This photo is appeals greatly on many levels.

As someone that's never taken anything seriously enough to compete, I admire the effort. And this photograph. Very lovely. Enjoy your weekend. :)
