Journey

Don't you love a journey? I just spent the last 4 days with family and good friends. I watched my dear cousin get married. I thought about how I felt walking down the isle and how my life has changed in the past 14 years of marriage. It was wonderful to see extended family joining together to celebrate. So many different people and journeys merging over the weekend.

I also journeyed home...which was so good for my soul. There is something about the Illinois prairies that just bring me peace. I took this photo last night. I drove out to a near by forest preserve and spent a good hour walking, thinking, listening to the birds and taking photos. I thought about my journey in life so far. How quickly the time has gone. Taking that quiet walk alone was slice of heaven. A journey into my soul...

So looking forward to catching up with you all...

This photo makes me want to walk right into the picture! And such magical light. Glad the trip was so good to you.

The best part of any journey...coming home.

I went to a wedding too, this weekend. But yours sounds more of a homecoming. And wonderful!

beautiful thoughts and reflections on this journey

Love the deep thoughts of yours. Going home always bring us thinking of our life journey. Love your new header. :)

What a beautiful area for a walk, looks like it is right out of a movie.

Glad to see the results of your soulful journey, Caroline. Home is always good for the soul...Beautiful photos!

A journey spent with family and friends sounds like my kinda journey.

Beautiful picture and new blog header too.

As always, you share beautiful thoughts, beautiful photos. It is always a pleasure to visit you.

Hours of reflection outdoors are the best. And a cure for much as well. Glad to read that you enjoyed your weekend with family. :)

The image of journey can be so beautiful, just as your picture is. Love the new picture in your header too. I have a friend that uses the word journey often to describe life's passages. I recently read a book called Packing for a Woman's Journey in preparation for a journey I am about to take.

weddings are a good time for the memories you write of here...and the crossing you so beautifully photographed

Im with Tammie...I would like to walk right into the picture too!

I was just talking to a blog friend on the phone for the first time and we were talking about the journey...the climb...and that that might be as good as it gets...that if you don't ever "get there" that at least you had the journey....

Home nourishes the soul. Wonderful thoughts today, Caroline.

It looks like fall over here! :)
The journey is really all we have - even we get to where we're going. We just continue a different journey, don't ya think?

:) Debi

I bet you got some gorgeous photos for us :-)

Magical picture, I really want to be there also, standing on the bridge musing about everything and nothing :) My current "journey" seems to be endless, but then we don't need to see the end just enjoy the travels :) Thank you :)
